Assignment # 16: The Journey

“Chirp, chirp chirp chirp”, you might think that this is the sound of a beautiful bird, but it’s my alarm awakening me to this beautiful cabin. I take a glance around my room a see the sun peaking threw the window, just staring at me. I suddenly started smelling pancakes. MMM it smelt so delicious. So I got out of bed to fallow this smell, but I ran into my dumbbells, and fell face first. I set a goal for myself as I usually do every morning, but this time it was to find where the smell of pancakes are coming from. I looked around the room again and my cabin looked really clean. My cabin had windows going all around it. It sometimes felt that you were outside, but you would really be inside. The cabin was made out of glass.

The sun was starting to shine brighter and brighter. So to follow my goal of finding wear that smell of pancakes is coming from, I took a walk outside. Now the sun was just attacking me with all of its force. I noticed a big field in front of me. There were so many beautiful flowers. There as many as millions of flowers that if you went in between them, you would probably get lost. For some reason the flowers were every single color that you can imagine. Hiding behind all these flowers that went for miles was a waterfall. The waterfall was rushing down in a hurry, it felt as if it was in a race against itself to get to the flowers as fast as possible, but couldn’t quiet reach it.

Even though all that was there the smell of the pancakes was still drawing me towards it. So I kept on walking in a dirt path in between the flowers as some of them reach out and touch me. I was getting closer and closer to the waterfall. As I was walking I noticed a herd of tigers drinking from the stream. This waterfall was falling from a hill that looked like a very big mountain, but for some reason the smell was coming from the top of the waterfall. So I started climbing the mountain and every step I toke the water just kept on splashing me. The water wasn’t about to stop me from my pancakes, so fought threw it and kept on climbing.

I finally got to the top and saw a table full of pancakes just waiting for me. I started to walk towards it. Suddenly, I fell again, but this time it wasn’t because of the dumbbells, but because of a little rabbit running right beneath me. The rabbit was okay so I kept on walking. The dream was about to come true, but something caught my attention. I looked down from the mountain and the flowers and stream look much better than it looked when it was down there.

These pancakes looked god made. It had some kind of magic. It looked very big with strawberries on top. It had the smell that can probably travel around the planet and back. I took a big bite, and it was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I felt like I was full of energy. There was nothing that can stop me from eating the rest of it. Well that was the best thing that has ever happened to me. The world felt like it was just still, but the raging water was still rushing down. I wonder why the water wanted the flowers or was it the flowers pulling the water to them self. I guess every living things has its needs whether it’s the flowers wanting water or the tiger wanting water or just me wanting the great pancake made by imaginary person or god if you believe in him.

Assignment # 14: Persuasive Essay: Uniforms

1 2 3 tick tick tick time is going by. A boy getting beat up at a school to which he is new to. Nobody there to help. Who are these people that are jumping him? Well can they be gangsters from another school. Imagine an environment that was very hard to live in, so you decide to move to another school so you can feel protected and safe. Somehow now they have fallowed you and the administration didn't even notice them come to the school because there is no way of telling. They don't wear uniforms or have ID cards so practically anybody can come in and do whatever they want without any consequences. For a school free of violence you need uniforms.

Have you ever gone to McDonalds and witnessed all the people not wearing the same cloths? Have you ever gone into a hospital and witnessed all the doctors not matching? Well the answer for all of that is NO. An environment without uniform is not a very good one. Schools are supposed to train you for your future goals and tasks that lay ahead of you and most of the careers require uniforms. So why not start the training now, so you can be prepared. Some Potential Benefits of School Uniforms is Preventing gang colors, etc. in schools, Decreasing violence and theft because of clothing and shoes, Instilling discipline among students, Reducing need for administrators and teachers to be 'clothes police' (for example, determining whether shorts are too short, etc.), Reducing distractions for students, Instilling a sense of community, and Helping schools recognize those who do not belong on campus.

There are not that many rich people in the United States. About probably 10% of the people can actually say that they are rich, so what happen to the rest of the 90%. Most schools that don’t have uniforms force the poor people to buy much more expensive cloths than they need to. If they don’t than everybody makes fun of them by quotes like this “Uhhh, look at what she or he is wearing”, or “That bitch wears the same cloths every day.” But with uniforms that wouldn’t be happening. They would all look the same so at least if a person doesn’t like somebody, they don’t have to use the clothes as an excuse.

Beauty is a factor that everybody wants to show. The only problem is that everybody doesn’t have it. There are many girls at school that wear small clothes so they can show off. The administration doesn’t agree with that, but if they had to all wear let’s say pants with a collared shirt, than why would they wear small things to school. There are also situations that girls wear shirts that show too much breasts, well they can solve that exactly the same way.

Gangs cause a lot of damage to our environment and society. They destroy our buildings and facilities by tagging on them. One thing that affects schools is that they wear the same clothes so they can all represent the same gang which causes more trouble. Uniforms can stop the gangs in school from matching because they will not only be match each other, but every single other person that goes to that school.

So let’s work as a team and make schools better for the next generations of kids. Our goal should be to send our kids to an environment so they can come home and say that they actually learned something. I know I wouldn’t want my son or daughter to come home and tell me how they were being teased at school. Today is the day we make a change to our schools by enforcing uniforms. So the generations ahead of us can develop better and better.

Assignmen # 9: Alien contact

“Boom, boom, boom”, I heard the door. There was somebody knocking very hard, so I rushed to the door. It was my Neighbor he started screaming “come outside, come outside I think we are getting attacked by aliens!” I jumped into my shoes, ran as fast as I can to my flying car and started fallowing the spaceship. It was a very large ship that looked round from far away, but the closer you got to it the more the shape changed to an oval. I was feeling very frightened, but the years before, my force had done a lot of practice and was ready for anything.

It is October 22, 3001 and the United States is becoming one of the most technologist nations in the universe. I today’s time we have discovered many more planets and many living things in them, but the most dangerous living thing or as we call aliens in the old days is in Lehvill. A planet that is located in another Universe. In today’s time anything is possible. You can teleport, fly, and more. There is only one problem all the other aliens are friendly, but the one’s from Lehvill are very evil. They look exactly like humans and guess what they are evil just like us humans. Two organisms that are so similar cannot tolerate each other, so this is where the war begins.

You may think that by the time of 3001 all the racism will be gone, well you are right. The generation of 2000 to 2100 stepped up and let the world know that all human kind is one. It is not time for us to fight amongst us, but to discover and make this world a better place for everybody. Once they accepted that there were discoveries to people wildest dreams, but now we have discovered Lehvill, Something that we should have probably not done.

So I kept on following the spaceship, but for some reason I couldn’t catch it. It seemed that their technology was much more superior to ours. I called for backup and in two seconds my teammates appeared besides me. Their cars were much faster than mine. They caught up to the spaceship, and the space ship came to a sudden stop. The doors started opening very slowly. Than all of a sudden a group of fast flying cars started flying out of it. It appeared that they had the same technology as us.

Later on I found out that there are multi universes with the same features as the planet earth. They had the same exact things, but the only difference that made them far superior than us was that in their generations, they didn’t have to fight racism, or planet damaging. They didn’t with amongst each other, but worked hard to develop as much things as possible.

Assignment # 13 Halloween Haiku

The Dark Has Fallen
Another year with horrer
Ding Dong Trick Or Treat

Assignment # 12: The Black Cat

evil.jpg image by stargate649
People have always said that black cats are evil. Is it just a myth or is there some truth behind it, well that is just something that every individual has to experience. I have been thought to believe that myths are real. It might not be real in a common sense kind of way, but it is real. Why is a harmless creature said to be evil and only when the cat is black?

Hundred, hundred years ago lived an angry old lady. She was known in her village to cure diseases and help cure people that there was no cure. The only weird thing was that everybody that she cured died exactly two years later. So nobody would notice if it was the old lady or just normal death. In that loving village she was the only one that didn’t have any friends or really loved anybody. It was impossible to look directly look into her eyes. It was said to be the prettiest, but also the evilest eyes anybody had ever seen. No one in the village dared to talk to her unless they needed a cure.

This mysterious old lady had this really bad taste. She would always just wear black cloths and never took the time to look nice. The worst part of all, she loved seeing people in pain. One winter day a young girl came to her without any reason. She just wanted to learned a little about the mysterious old lady, but little did she knew the consequences of her stupidity. The old lady didn’t open the door all she said was “come in”. The little girl went inside and walked into spider webs. Getting a little scared she removed the spider web and walked very slowly waiting anxiously of what was awaiting her next. She walked into the first door to her right and saw the old lady tilting back and forth on her chair. The angry eyes of the old lady met the little girl’s eyes. They stared at each other for a minute than the lady said “what do you want?” the little girl stuttering now replayed “umm, umm, I just wanted to learn about you a little.” The old lady gave no response and the next thing you know the girl just falls down. The old lady brutally started to cut her up. First she cut out her eyes, than she started cutting every single finger. Than she put all the body parts together and lit it on fire.

Nobody ever heard of the girl or old lady ever again. But when they went to the old ladies house to investigate, they found the cut up body parts of the little girl and a black cat that looked perfectly fine lying dead besides her. The cat had the same exact eyes as the old lady.

Now you tell me if black cats are evil or if it is just a myth. The story lived on for many centuries. The weird part is that is it us humans that are evil and just trying to symbol it as black cats or are cats really evil. Well I will leave that up to you to decide.

Assignment # 11 The Concrete Rose

One windy day a baby boy was born in the back of the truck in a farm field in the middle of Chile. This was an unwanted baby. When born, the baby was named Jesus. This Baby was born in a family that had no money or food to feed him. When Jesus turned about seven he started working in the fields with his dad. They made just enough money to keep food on their table. But Jesus had big dreams of becoming a doctor which sounded impossible at the time. He loved education, but never really had the chance to go to school. On his tenth birthday his dad died and now surviving felt impossible.

Jesus and his mom decided to move to America so they can at least live a better life. They came to the land of opportunity with big hopes and dreams, but who knew about all the obstacles they were about to fight. It was around spring and time to go to the fields. Jesus had barley started school and was struggling with English and students bullying him at school. They called him many names not just because of his race but because he was a homosexual. This was nothing he imagined America would be like. He thought that they were accepting and caring, but they were none of that.

In a nation were Mexican values are low and even lower if they are a homosexual. Jesus strived towards his goals and tried to achieve them one by one. He started out by really doing well in school and right after that working in the fields with his mom. It still wasn’t enough for them to make a good living. Finally at the age of seventeen he graduated high school and was valedictorian. He was being offered so many scholarships from all around the nation. He and his mom moved to the great city of Philadelphia so Jesus can start his collage over there.

Well obstacles are things to overcome and there was nothing that can stop Jesus from fulfilling his dreams of becoming a doctor. From a little boy that was not wanted, working in the fields, his dad dying, being very poor , and getting bullied at school he was about to prove society wrong and achieve every and anything he had ever dream of.

So if that boy can do something that is almost impossible than why can’t a child at a better position do the same thing? There are times when you are going to face an obstacle like concrete for the flower, or bullying for Jesus, you just have to fight it and prove the whole world wrong so the next time that happens to another person or flower. They will have the courage to go against it. But before any of this can happen you have to believe in yourself and in miracles because anything is possible.

In around the early times humans thought that the planet was flat and that it was impossible to go to the moon. Look at it now, we are laughing at them because of their stupidity. I bet hundred years from now people will be laughing at us.

Assignment # 10: Bullying

Imagine a world that only judged you by the way you look and where you come from. Now imagine the people that did that to you were students that went to the same school as you. You had to face them every school day for all of high school. The sad part is that your teachers or principle wouldn’t do something about it. Well welcome to the world of bullying, racism, and hatred amongst the humankind. Welcome to the place we call home that might or is not even ours. I can still remember the old days when a man was judged by his personality not his race, ethnicity, sexuality, or gender. So why have people changed so much, is it the movies and media that make people think that being a homosexual or another race is a bad thing. If it is that than why are we allowing them to influence us in the wrong way? Right now is the time to step up and change as many things as possible, before it is too late.

Living in the planet earth for fifteen years is long enough for a young man to become an adult and gain enough knowledge to make the right decisions. Well although I have come a long way I am still not sure about how I have faced all the obstacles that I faced. The hardest obstacle for anybody to me is bullying. Since I have been in America I don’t think I have gone two days without somebody making a comment on my race. I was born in an Afghani family and have always wanted a good education, so that brought us to the United States of America where life was suppose to be better for me and my family, but who knew that it would get worse.

I can still remember 9/11 as if it was yesterday and I am pretty sure I will remember that tragedy for the rest of my life. Not because somebody I loved died in it, but that was the turning point and the start of racism. I open my eyes to another beautiful day and ready to go to school and on the way to school it could have been the worst day of my life. As I was walking to school very happy because it was my first day of middle school a group of kids that I knew from elementary came in front of me. There were four of them. They were all at least two hundred pounds or more. At first I thought they were just going to go past me. Then all of a sudden one of them trips me and a fall face first onto the pavement. I stayed down for a while and before you knew it they started to kick me. They kick me in every single part if my body from head to feet. I had my hands over my head trying to protect myself, but I guess that was not enough. From opening my eyes to a beautiful day I opened my eyes to sight of horror. Lost and very confused I tried moving but I couldn’t move any part of my body.

I toke a glance around me to see and ask for help, but nobody there to rescue me from the terror of bullying. I looked again and I saw an adult that kind of looked like a teacher. I screamed “help, help, help me please”, but in a fast response she replied “fuck you, you Afghani fuck! You deserve everything that is happening to you, because of you my son had to go to war.” The thought of somebody helping me had died and now I have noticed that nobody was going to help me. The guys were finally done and leaving me in pain. They walked away I to myself I thought that it was all over I at least didn’t die, but it wasn’t over. One of the guys turned back around and spit on me and suddenly I woke up. I heard “Samir, Samir, wake up baby. We are almost in America.” Feeling very excited that it was just a dream; I picked up a pencil and wrote about it.

The nightmare that I had is now happening to homosexuals. They are getting bullied and picked on just because they like the same sex which is just wrong. I never thought my nightmare would turn into reality, but it did. In this world everybody is selfish, but the real question is how far they are going to take it. Everybody needs to take a minute and think that it just doesn’t matter what you think it matters what everybody thinks. If a guy wants to like another guy than let it be instead of making life miserable for them.

Assignment # 8: The Necklace

There is a very famous quote “Better to fail with honor than succeed “, by Fraud. No matter what possession you are standing at, it is never good to do bad things. There is a time in everybody’s life when they have to choose the right thing or the wrong thing to do. If you are cheating in every task or challenge that life throws at you than you are just proving that you are weak and don’t have any self values. Then there is lying. Well there is a quote for that to “Lying rides upon debt's back”, by Benjamin Franklin, and “A lie can run around the world six times while the truth is still trying to put on its pants”, by Mark Twain.

Lying can cause death. I can still remember this story as if it was yesterday. My family owned a bird. This bird was very talented and it could talk. About every day this bird would scream “help, help the cat is going to eat me", and all of us would run out to save it, but we would find out that there is no cat. Every time that the bird did that we went running outside and there would be no cat present. Until the day came that the lying caught up to the bird. It was a sunny day in Afghanistan and there was a hungry big black cat that was walking towards the bird. So he started to shout again " help, help, the cat is going to eat me", but nobody ran out to save him. So he shouted again "help, help the cat is going to eat me", again nobody responded. There was a loud noise of the cage drop and I ran out to see, but it was too late. The bird that was with us for so long had left us. It wasn't the cat that had killed him, but the lying had caught on.

Cheating is a success that lasts about the most one day. The moment you might think that there is no other choice, but there is because choosing the wrong path is going to only last a while, but in the long run it will effect you. Cheating is just like lying. There are many people in sports that try to take the easy way out by cheating themselves and not going all out in every practice, will once the time comes for them to perform, well it won't happen the way they think it is going to happen.

So weather you are lying or cheating that moment it might feel great, but just wait a while and it will catch up to you. So weather an athlete cheats himself in practice and takes a lot of shortcuts or a bird lying it will all turn around on you and nobody will believe you or you won’t perform good.

All of this leads to self respect like I would rather fail with honor than succeed with guilt. At least I can say to myself that I did the right thing every time I got the chance. No matter what the result was going to be as long as I respect myself than I have a chance of the world respecting me too. It starts on me than others. If I am not doing the right thing than how could I expect that from strangers or even family? There is this saying look at the big picture before you make a move, well that is what I live by. It is good to know the result of each decision you make.

Assignment: 7 My Self Value : Jealousy

There is a quote "I've spent most of my life walking under that hovering cloud, jealousy, whose acid raindrops blurred my vision and burned holes in my heart.", by Astrid Alauda. When someone is jealous of another person that just means that they don't love themselves. They think that the other person is better than them, but who knows in reality from somebody else's view this person might be the best. Like many people say no matter how much a person receives they still want more. So there will always be somebody that is jealous of another person.

Have you ever heard of the story Beauty and the beast? Well it is about this beautiful princess falling in love with a horrible beast. They fall in love and live happily ever after, but in that story there is another handsome prince that every girl in the village likes. He likes the princess, but she doesn’t like him. So no matter how handsome that guy is and how ugly the beast is the beauty still fell in love with the beast because not what is in the outer, but she looked much deeper than that. She saw the true face and the feelings of the beast and noticed that he might not be beautiful in the outside, but he is a really nice person.

That beast might have not had the qualities of the young handsome prince, but he sure had a better personality. There are a lot of fights in this country over who is better than whom. The whites think that they are in the top of the chain. Everybody in this world are now wishing they were white so they can for one second live a better live than they have so far. Where has the self value of the world gone? Why don’t they believe in themselves and try to achieve things to their wildest imaginations without any barriers blocking them for it?

There is something called Believing in yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself then why should the person sitting next to you believe in you? Jealousy should be something that doesn’t even exist in this world because if you think you are better than somebody and you believe in that. Then that will come true and you will see yourself better than them. Just like the beauty and the beast there is somebody in this world that thinks you are perfect.

So believing in yourself means that other people will believe in you, and as long as you are a good human being than it doesn’t matter what is in the outside, but what is within. So the next day you are walking down the road and you spot somebody that is better than you, think about all the good qualities you have that the person just might not have. Life will go on beautifully as long as jealousy and crime go away forever.

Assignment:6 I Dream A World

Imagine a world filled with only peace and love. The word RACISM not even existing. Well the poem “I Dream A World”, means to me. Have you ever seen a black cow fight a white cow till death just because they are different colors. We as human beings were brought into this world so we can work toghether and discovering new things to the wildest of our imaginations.

What went wrong, did human beings gain too muck knowledge to where they are hurting themselves instead of helping? Well if this tragedy continues that is something that we are going to have to find out the hard way. Many generations have gone but we still haven’t learned the knowledge that fighting in your own species is stupid. Time is a factor that will never wait so we can catch up so we need to use this time and try to change as much as we can. I know that one person can’t change the whole world but by changing them self into a better person is a good start.

The line “ Where greed no longer saps the soul, Nor avarice blights our day. " That is my Favorite line from the poem. To me this means that there is alot of selfish and greedy people an that needs to change. I sometimes wonder what if everybody shared and all men were actulluy created equaly. Most people these days don't even understand the word share, family and love. Haterd between brothers has filled the word and has made it a nightmare for everybody living in what we know as planet earth. Well I really do hope that this is a dream and that I can wake up from it. Only a nightmare like this can be so horrible.

As the sun comes up it brings another beautiful day with new adventures laying ahead of us. Imagine if that discovery was real love among the souls. Imagine if a white man held hands with a black man and walked the earth. Well wouldn't that be amazing.

BOOK REPORT: THE OUTSIDERS

This great story of "The Outsiders" written by S.E. Hinton is about Ponyboy Curtis and his brothers, Sodapop and Darry, belong to a group of poor teenage boys called greasers. They often fight with the Socs, the group of wealthy, privileged boys who beat them up for fun. Ponyboy is shy and quiet. He gets good grades and likes to draw and read. His oldest brother Darry takes care of the family since their parents died in a car crash. He is very serious, works most of the time, and is very hard on Ponyboy. He often yells at him to do better in school. Soda, the middle brother, is happy most of the time, and is very handsome and likable.

There are a few other members of their gang, including Dally and Johnny. Dally is one of the oldest, and certainly the toughest. He seems to enjoy being a criminal. He thinks the law is a joke. His parents abuse him, so he always seems scared. He is the pet of the group. Recently, Johnny was beat up very badly by a Soc wearing heavy rings. One night, Dally, Johnny and Pony meet two beautiful Soc girls, Cherry and Marcia. The four of them have a good conversation. On the way home, the girls' boyfriends catch them all together. It turns out that Cherry's boyfriend is Bob, the same boy who beat Johnny up. Later that night, Ponyboy comes in late and gets into such a fight with Darry that he runs to the park with Johnny just to get away from the house. Bob and his friends find Pony and Johnny there, and nearly drown Pony in a fountain. Terrified and angry, Johnny stabs Bob to deathThe two boys run to find Dally, knowing he will know what to do. He gives them money and tells them to hide in a church a short distance out of town. They stay there for a few days, reading to each other and talking about poetry and sunsets. When Dallas comes to find them, they tell him they want to turn themselves in. Before they can, however, the church catches fire and several small children are trapped inside.
Without thinking, the boys rescue them, and a large piece of burning wood falls on Johnny and breaks his back. Pony spends a short time in the hospital, then gets to go home. That evening there is a big fight between the greasers and the Socs, which the greasers win. Cherry, meanwhile, has become a spy for the greasers, which pleases Ponyboy but also angers him: he doesn't want charity. After the rumble, Dally and Ponyboy go to see Johnny, who dies, telling Pony never to lose his spirit. Dally is overwhelmed, and runs out of the hospital. Soon after, back at home, Darry and the others get a phone call from Dally. He has robbed a liquor store. The boys run out to find him and hide him, but the police are chasing him. He pulls out a gun. Pony boy knows it isn't loaded, but he knows that Dally knows the police think it is. The police shoot Dally, . Pony faints and stays sick for nearly a week. Ponyboy is so upset by Johnny's death that for weeks he pretends to himself and everyone else that he himself killed Bob, and that Johnny is still alive. After the trial, however, when the judge decides that Ponyboy did nothing wrong, Pony begins to admit to himself that Dally and Johnny are both dead. He decides to write about himself for a class assignment, so he can let other people know what life for a greaser is like. He is sure that there are many boys across the country just like him. He also recognizes, finally, that Darry loves him. He sees that Darry was just being overprotective when he yelled at him. He feels that, for the first time, he and his two brothers form a family.
I really liked this book. This book proves that a life a gangster is not what people think it is. It requires you to sacrifice a lot of things like family, love, and education. All gangs cause trouble. I hope the next book I read is as good as this one.

Assignment: 4&5 Islamic Mosque in New York

What is religion? To many people religion is fate to god, but there are some people that don’t believe in god, this is known as atheism. Religion is, “a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.”In most of the countries they don’t have freedom of religion, but America was built on that. In the U.S constitution the first amendment in the bill of rights it guarantees to all freedom of speech, Press, Assembly, and most important RELIGION.

I come from a family whose origins start in Parwan, Kabul which is located in the capital of Afghanistan. Everybody including my family believes in Islam which believes in one god. To be a Muslim you have to fallow the five pillars of being a Muslim which is The Profession of Faith, The Five Daily Prayers, Almsgiving, Fasting, and Pilgrimage to Mecca.

The Profession of Faith is the absolute focus of Islamic piety is Allah, the supreme, all knowing, all-powerful, and above all, all-merciful God. The Arabic word Allah means "the God and this God is understood to be the God who brought the world into being and sustains it to its end. By obeying God's commands, human beings express their recognition of and gratitude for the wisdom of creation, and live in harmony with the universe. We pray "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is his prophet."

The Five Daily Prayers is the second pillar of Islam which is the religious duty to perform five prescribed daily prayers or salat. All adult Muslims are supposed to perform five prayers, preceded by ritual cleansing or purification of the body at different intervals of the day. The Qur'anic references also mention the acts of standing, bowing, and prostrating during prayers and facing a set direction, known as qibla. The Muslims were first required to face Jerusalem during prayer, but already during Muhammad's lifetime they were commanded to face the Kaaba, an ancient shrine in the city of Mecca. The Qur'an also refers to the recitation of parts of the Qur'an as a form of prayer. However, even with its numerous references, the Qur'an alone does not give exact instructions for this central ritual of prayer. They pray at certain times of day: dawn (fajr or subh), noon (zuhr), midafternoon (asr), sunset (maghrib), and evening (isha).

The third pillar of Islam is zakat, or almsgiving. A religious obligation, zakat is considered an expression of devotion to God. It represents the attempt to provide for the poorer sectors of society, and it offers a means for a Muslim to purify his or her wealth and attain salvation. The Qur'an, together with other Islamic traditions, strongly encourages charity and constantly reminds Muslims of their moral obligation to the poor, orphans, and widows; however, it distinguishes between general, voluntary charity (sadaqa) and zakat, the latter being an obligatory charge on the money or produce of Muslims. While the meaning of terms has been open to different interpretations, the These specific uses include spending zakat on the poor and the needy, on those who collect and distribute zakat, on those whom Muslims hope to win over and convert to Islam, on travelers, on the ransom of captives, to relieve those who are burdened with debts, and on the cause of God.

The fourth pillar of Islam is sawm, or fasting. Clear Qur'anic references to fasting account for the early introduction of this ritual practice. The Qur'an prescribes fasting during the month of Ramadan, the 9th month of the 12-month Islamic lunar year. The month of Ramadan is sacred because the first revelation of the Qur'an is said to have occurred during this month. By tradition the month starts with the sighting of the new moon by at least two Muslims. For the entire month, Muslims must fast from daybreak to sunset by refraining from eating, drinking, and sexual intercourse. Menstruating women, travelers, and sick people are exempted from fasting but have to make up the days they miss at a later date.

The fifth pillar requires that Muslims who have the physical and financial ability should perform the pilgrimage, or hajj, to Mecca at least once in a lifetime. The ritual of pilgrimage was practiced by Arabs before the rise of Islam and continues from the early days of Islam. The hajj is distinct from other pilgrimages. It must take place during the 12th lunar month of the year, known as Dhu al-Hijja, and it involves a set and detailed sequence of rituals that are practiced over the span of several days. All of the pilgrimage rituals take place in the city of Mecca and its surroundings, and the primary focus of these rituals is a cubical structure called the Kaaba

I hope that has helped you understand Islam better. So the terrorist ran planes into the world trade center and nine years from then the Islamic community wants to build Musk. The Americans are getting angry and making a big deal about it. They took it to as far as some guy saying that he will blow it up. And now there is Reverand Terry Jones who wants to burn Qurans on 9/11 to who knows what he is trying to prove.

After a lot of argument the leader of a small U.S. Christian church says he has called off his plan to burn copies of the Quran on Saturday. The Reverand Terry Jones said Thursday he called off his protest because he had reached an agreement with Muslim leaders to move the controversial location of a planned Islamic cultural center and mosque in New York. He said the mosque would be moved away from the site of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the United States.

I just don’t think that everything that is going on is right but racism I guess will always be there. I wonder when the world is going to actually change even though United States thinks that they are not.

The Magical Coin Show & Tell

Money is important to everybody, but to me this coin is worth the world. This 1922 coin was my grandpa's and before he passed away he passed the legendary coin to me. I want this coin to travel from generation to generations, from my kids to their until the last day of earth to keep my grandpa's memories alive.

Life flowing by like an angry river what layes ahead nobody knows
Time has come for another generation to flow better than ever

My Sophomore Year (Final Exam)

Another school year has gone by, but this one for some reason is very different and amazing. There are times when people enjoy going to school and this was one of those years. People say that your high school years are some of the best years of your lives and I am starting to believe in that. I want to do and achieve as much as I can, so when I look back there are no regrets. There is a famous quote “What we want is to see the child in pursuit of knowledge, and not knowledge in pursuit of the child.” By George is how I feel after this school year. Knowledge would be after me, but now I am after knowledge.

Another year of school had started and I was very enthusiastic to go and meet all my teachers. This year’s teachers were all so different and kind. Several of my teachers had thought in a different manner, but I learned from all of them. Last year when I was a freshman I could not nearly write as well as I can today. I really like the idea of blogs in my English class and computer’s class. In a way I learned how to use the internet better for sharing creative ideas. I don’t recall a teacher ever telling me good job and shaking my hand, but that happened this year. I have come a long way in reading, science, Algebra 2, Computers, Spanish, history, sociology, and especially writing. I have written more essay’s then probably my whole middle school years combined.

I have grown academically, but this year I grew physically. I can still remember when I was about four feet eleven. Then, something happened and all of a sudden I stand now five feet six. Growing physically just doesn’t mean that people get taller, but all kinds of things change like your face, start to grow hair, and get muscle. Last year I could have barley benched tens on each side, but after a year of hard work I have gotten that up to twenty fives on each side. Now I can probably hit harder for football and maybe achieve my dreams of becoming a professional Football player.

The greatest thing that I learned this is that humanity is a danger to this planet. All humanity has done for the past generations is cause damage, kill other living things, miss up the life cycles of animal, Forest fires, take over other animals soil, and recently spill thousands of gallon of oil into the ocean. Humanity is going to be this first creature that destroys themselves with their own hands. I have never in my fifteen years of living seen a dog fight another dog because of his or her color. So why do humans do that, they have so much knowledge, but they still ripe each other apart. I have also learned that everybody has a voice that one vote can make a difference.

This was a year of knowledge being a benefit. I can now love where I come from even though most people don’t respect that, but at least I know that I come from a great place. I can breathe freely knowing that I have accomplished a lot this year. I have reached my goal of having a 4.0 GPA. Now all I see ahead of me is a great life full of passion, and knowledge. Going to Penn State to play football, and become a doctor, which will make everybody that I know and love proud. I see a great future and nothing holding me back. Now I await the adventure of my next school year.

Tiger In Rain (Anything essay)

Once upon a time in the western valleys of Antarctica there lived a young beautiful princess. When she was born she kind of looked like a cute cat so they named Cathleen. She was very happy of her life and loved happy ending fairy tales. She had always dreamed that her prince charming would come riding on a horse and sweep her off her feet. She had big, green eyes. She always had her hair down and dressed like a royal Hines that she was. There was nothing wrong with her accept, whenever it rained she turned into a vicious tiger and just wanted to have at least one person for supper.

One cold snowy day she took a ride on her white horse. She rode faster than the wind as the snow touched her warm skin. Suddenly the snow was starting to turn in to rain and it was time for her to head home as fast as she can. But it was too late, on her way home she started transforming as the rain touched her body. She started growing long claws, she started to gain muscle. Her skin started to turn orange with black stripes. Cathleen’s ears grew big and she started to grow whiskers. With a big roar she jumped off the horse and ran ten times faster.

It was hunting time for her. She rushed back home, but there was nobody there all her servants had gone home. She went out of the house roaring with anger. She went all the way to the city to find somebody. By the time she got there the rain was almost about to stop. She spotted another tiger and rushed towards it. Right as she was about to bite down the rain stopped and she turned into a beautiful princess again. Something weird happened the tiger that she was about to eat had turned into a handsome prince. She was so happy, she didn’t think the guy in her dreams would meet her as a tiger, but she thought he was the handsomest prince she had ever seen.

They started to talk as they walked side by side. She asked “I thought I was the only person in the world that turned into a tiger when it rained,” he replayed “Me too, so how does this happen to you,” with a sigh of relief she said “The witch from the north put this spell on me and told me that I had to find another person with the same problem and it would all go away.” He popped his eyes out and replayed “That is exactly what happened to me, but it was the witch from the south!” They held hands as they walked the cold land of Antarctica. Feeling weird he mumbled “I forgot to ask your name,” she replied “Cathleen, what is yours,” he mumbled again “Christopher.”

She had found the guy of her dream in a form of a tiger, but now the only problem was that they had to kiss before it rained again and they lost each other. They married under a great waterfall. They kissed and lived happily ever after.

Wisdom

"The end has come at last, I wonder what awaits me in the new world."

Many people have told me that life is great, but what happens after you die is greater. I ask, so why are we brought to what we know as planet earth when there is not such a reason? Are we being tested to the best of our abilities? What happens if we don’t pass that test are there severe consequences. We might be here because of the scientific theories, but why are we the only species with the knowledge to communicate and use everything to our advantage. What if there is another life after this and we didn’t take the time to understand it.

There is a limit to everything. I ask if there is a limit to knowledge. Yes, the human species is one of the greatest, but do we have the right to make it a nightmare for everything else. There was an oil leak in the ocean which will potentially cause many sea creatures to die, but are all of the people really worrying about it. The humanity ending will be the greatest day for all living things on earth. There will be nobody to cause harm to nature or mother earth.

Time is a variable that never stops, so will when people notice all the damage they are causing, and find their inner wisdom. Everybody will die someday, I hope the last day on earth isn’t the time where your inner wisdom kicks in and you notice all the damage that you or somebody around you has caused. That last breath that you take should be a powerful one letting the world know that you were different and you didn’t follow other people’s footsteps.

So why wait and let another generation go by without change. My quote “The end has come at last, I wonder what awaits me in the new world." If we can’t change ourselves now, then what do we expect from the life after death if there is one?

If this world keeps on causing damage, then people will wait for the world to end and be happy about it because they ended the decades of terror. I want to explore death as an adventure and will always have faith of the afterlife. I don’t want to be just a subject under the dirt; I want to go to another beautiful place full of happiness, and kindness. I wonder if the theory of heaven being a place in the high skies, on the clouds is true. I wonder if whatever you imagine it just appears in front of you. If there is a god, why is he letting us turn earth and its beauty to a living hell? Somebody needs to step up and there might be a day where all humans go to heaven.

I Would be Brian Dawkins!

Imagine a whole city loving you more than anybody on the team. Being one of the greatest players of all time. Achieving to where there is no limits. That is the legendary Brian Dawkins. He has done a lot for the Philadelphia Eagles, but for the city of brother hood love that wants everything, it was just not enough. Imagine getting paid more than millions and having things that you couldn’t imagine in your wildest dreams. Well to me this guy has it all, he does what he loves and that is to play the great American sport of Football.

I want to wake up one day in a big house. Wake up to a room full of Football things. Not have to go to school or some other boring thing, but go play football. Be with a team that respects me. After a long day of practice drive my Ferrari home. I want to have the feeling of thousands of people counting on me. He also plays the best position in the national football league, which is the strong safety position.

I stood on the field listen to the roar of thousands of fans on the stands calling out my name. I saw smoke and fireworks shooting towards the sky. As I bear crawl towards my teammates the city of brother hood love on their feet waiting to welcome me. We started to sing…

Fly Eagles fly,

On the road to victory.

Fight Eagles fight,

Score a touchdown 1, 2, 3.

Hit'em low, hit'em high,

And watch our Eagles fly.

Fly Eagles fly,

On the road to victory.

E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES

Dawkins has the best job in the world. He gets to hit somebody as hard as he wants without getting in trouble. He gets to travel around the country and do what he loves. In my eyes he is the luckiest guy in the world. There is a famous quote “Football is not a game but a religion, a metaphysical island of fundamental truth in a highly verbalized, disguised society, a throwback of 30,000 generations of anthropological time” (By, Arnold Mandell). That would be what I thought if I was in his spot. I have another quote about football by Samir Gul “A man without football is a bird without wings, a lion without courage, and a woman without a heart.” That is why I would love to be Brian Dawkins of the Philadelphia Eagles and live like a Legend. Dawkins was drafted in the second round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. As a rookie in 1996 he started 13 of the 14 games he played in, recording 75 tackles, a sack, and three interceptions. During his Eagles career Dawkins was elected to seven Pro Bowls in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008. In 2002 in a game versus the Houston Texans he became the first player in NFL history to record a sack, an interception, forced fumble, and touchdown reception in a single game. During the 2008 season he became the tenth member of the 20/20 Club and broke the Eagles record for games played surpassing Harold Carmichael who had 180. After the 2008 season Dawkins became a free agent. He finished his career with the Eagles starting 182 of 183 games, recording 898 tackles, 34 interceptions, and 21 sacks. That is why I would love to be Brian Dawkins of the Philadelphia Eagles and live like a Legend.

Humanity is Evil (Extra Credit)

Technology has awoken me again, to the world full of anger. There was a time when people never fought and actually thought that all humanity is one race. But a lot has changed; Humanity has come to point where we are not one. God created human’s as one, but now we have different skin color and race on different sides. The planet earth was created for all living things, but we give our self’s the right to go and kill everything around us.

There are some famous Poems about humanity “It would indeed be a tragedy if the history of the human race proved to be nothing more than the story of an ape playing with a box of matches on a petrol dump.”(David Ormsby Gore) “Humanity is on the march, earth itself is left behind.”(David Ehrenfeld) “Man was created a little lower than the angels, and has been getting lower ever since.” (Josh Billings) “Give a man secure possession of a bleak rock, and he will turn it into a garden; give him nine years' lease of a garden, and he will convert it into a desert.” (Arthur Young) “Nobody knows the age of the human race, but everybody agrees that it is old enough to know better.” If humanity sees themselves in that way then, it must be true.

This makes me think of a poem:
By, Ahmad Gul

The Grass is green

The world is clean

The branch is brown

I fell on the ground

I looked up at the sky

The sky is blue

I found a clue

That this world is not for me and you

Can't Be Trusted (Based on a True Story)

Somebody that lives in your house that you love dearly turns out to be a very bad person. There are times when people make mistakes. But loving somebody that betrays you is very different. Everybody makes mistake in life, but when your own family member does that, it is just wrong. Somebody had once said that one man's trash is another man’s treasure well my wife is somebody else’s treasure. This is a Betrayal story of Prem Gul in Herat, Afghanistan.

After a hard day at work, Prem comes home to be welcomed by his wife. He walks in very happy and is really enthusiastic to see his wife Kajol Gul. He takes a glance around the living room and can’t seem to find his wife. So, he starts calling out “Kajol, Kajol,” but nobody answers. He gets frightened and looks harder, but can’t find her. Then, all of a sudden he hears a phone call “treeeeing, treeeeing.” He rushed to the phone and said “Bale” (Which means hello in Farsi). It was very quiet at the beginning, but then he started to hear his wife shout and cry. His wife had been kidnapped by the Taliban and they wanted him to go and kidnap the president’s daughter. He had no choice, but to say yes and try to save his wife’s life, that he loves very dearly.

Now Prem is on a mission to be a hero and save his wife from the filthy Taliban. He rushes to his room to design a plan so he can steal the president’s daughter. He starts to think to himself what if I earn her trust and pretend to marry her and take her away. He goes to the capital Kabul, Afghanistan. There he sees her and tries to find ways to make her fall in love with him. While the attempt of something that is almost impossible to do, he gets another call. It’s from the Taliban and they warn him to not do anything stupid and that he only had another week. That put even more pressure on him now. That president’s daughter was already starting to fall in love with him, but her parents didn’t approve. The time was coming near for Prem to tell Neha (The president’s daughter) that it is time they ran away and got married somewhere far, far away.

She agreed to escape from her house with him. The next morning they had it all planned and where ready to escape. They drove until this lake, but they were too late the guards were chasing them. They got off the car and got on a boat, then from a boat to a train. They arrived at Herat. It was time to tell Neha the truth. He played with her heart it wasn’t the right thing to do. She loved him way too much and agreed that for her love she will go with him. She felt betrayed, but at the same time she was willing to do anything to save his wife and to see him happy. He promised her that he will save her from the Taliban too. After all the time he had spent with her, he was starting to feel a little something. He cared about his wife a lot, but at the same time he didn’t want to hurt Neha anymore. BEING betrayed by someone you love is exactly how Neha felt, but that wasn’t it, he had to turn her into the Taliban.

The day came when they both walked side by side and the Taliban where waiting one hundred feet away. There were a lot of them. The whole world came at a stop. Prem shouted “Kajol kuja ast” (Where is Kajol at). Then, it started to get windy and a helicopter came thundering down. The head of the Taliban replied “da mabien a helecoptar ast” (She is in the helicopter). Then, that same guy shouted to go and get Neha. Kajol came out of the Helicopter and started to walk his way and Neha the other way. But Prem had promised to save Neha so he grabbed his wife and Neha. Then, started to run away, but his wife didn’t run. She took a gun out and pointed it at him. He was surprised and said “tu chee mekuni” (what are you doing), she pulled the girl away and shot him twice and replied “man tu ra ech wakht khwsh na dashtum, man as khatera brodaram kul y az y ra kadum”, (I have never liked you, all I did this is for my brother). He was starting to breathe harder and harder and just blacked out. Neha was cring and telling Kajol to let go, but she wouldn’t listen. He went into a dream. All he had was now gone. The wife that he sacrificed so much for betrayed him. Not only had done that, but shot him. He did the same thing with Neha, but this was much different. He died the worst way possible. He lost the love of his life. I bet if he didn't die, he wouldn't trust another girl agian. Nobody can be trusted because the time will come that you will see the real picture.

New episode of Family Guy

There is a time when characters leave, but then they come back. In this episode there is Peter Griffin who lives in Quahog, Rhode Island with his wife (Lois), dog (Brian), and three kids (Chris, Meg, and Stewie). He's a product safety inspector at the Happy-Go-Lucky Toy Company, but has dreams of being much more. Then, there is Peter's Friends Cleveland Brown, Glenn Quagmire, and Joe Swanson. They are the main characters of the show.

Let’s get to know the characters. Peter is an "average," not particularly competent American father, Peter is a selfish, irresponsible, obese and is a heavy drinker. His IQ falls near the borderline of mental retardation. He is married to Lois an average housewife/mother. She is a stay-at-home mother that juggles her piano lessons, kids, and husband all in one day, while she dodges her matricidal infant Stewie. Together they have three kids. The oldest one is Meg, the first child and only daughter, is a self-conscious and unattractive teenage girl. The other family members treat her as an object of abuse. Chris, the second child, is fat, blond, emotionally effusive, and afraid of the evil monkey that lives in his closet. Stewie is the baby, but often behaves in adult ways such as upper-class speech (though he is only fully understood by Brian and Chris). He talks in posh vocabulary, carries weapons, and invents new technology. He hates his mother and tries killing her many times. Then, there is Peter’s next-door neighbor and his friend, who Peter met in the Navy. He is best known for his sexual deviancies, and secretly having a foot fetish. He exhibits a vocal tic, the sound "giggity" once or numerous times in rapid succession, particularly when aroused. On several occasions, it is shown that he is attached to Peter's wife, Lois. Cleveland is Peter Griffin's mild-mannered African American friend. Finally, there is his handicap friend Joe who has severe anger issues.

This new episode will take place in Quahog, Rhode Island. Stewie is inventing a weapon that can destroy Lois forever. While Peter is up to his usual insanity. So at the beginning its Stewie’s second birthday and it is a snowy day outside. They have invited all Peter’s friends and Lois’s parents. Everybody is having a good time until Quagmire starts looking at Lois. She tells Peter to do something, but he doesn’t bother. Cleveland has been gone from the show, but he returns for Stewie’s birthday. Since Family Guy has a lot of musical songs peter goes to Quagmire and asks him “did you know about the bird” and starts singing the bird is the word song. While all this is going on Chris has gotten bitten by a spider and now has powers.

Stewie’s invention is finally finished and he created a remote that can control time. He tests it out and pushes pause. All of a sudden the whole world stopped around him. That was the perfect way to kill Lois. He started to play around like when Brian was about to sit down, Stewie paused it and moved the chair, and then pushed play and Brain had a nice fall feeling confused. Then, stewie noticed Meg fall and was surprised of how that was possible. While this was going on with Stewie Peter brought a buff pig for stewie’s birthday. There was too much going on that nobody really noticed Cleveland that had been gone for so long.

Peter finds out about Chris’s Spider Man power and tells him “With great powers, come great responsibilities”. He uses his powers for good. Stewie’s plan for finally killing his mom comes to an end because now he faces a greater challenge of figuring, who has the other remote. To find out what happens with Chris’s powers and who is the other person with the remote...

Bravery

There are many brave people in this world, but I think everybody has a different meaning for that word. I think people do brave things every day of their lives. There is a famous quote “Bravery is the capacity to perform properly even when scared half to death (Omar N. Bradley, 1893).” That is what I believe that bravery is. Like the many soldiers that go to war, they know that they have the chances of dying, but they still put their lives on the line for their country.

Going in front of the class to present a project takes bravery and courage, but not to where you are putting your life on the line for your country. Since I was a little boy I have dreamed of becoming a doctor (General Surgeon). To see another human being die in front of you and you couldn’t do anything about it is hard. Hearing a report that a person has gotten in a fatal crash and now it is in your hand to save his/her life is bravery.

I have spent most of my life in the United States and haven’t had a day without racism. There is a quote “I have visited some places where the differences between black and white are not as profound as they used to be, but I think there is a new form of racism growing in Europe and that is focused on people who are Middle Eastern. I see it (Montel Williams, 1956).” The thing that I did that was the bravest thing in my life is, stand up to racism. At first I believed them and was starting to not be proud of where I’m from, but I stood up to what I believe in. It takes a lot of courage and bravery to stand up to most of the people in your school.

It was around October, and people were adjusting to school. I can still remember walking from the bus to the school building. The suddenly I just hear some person go “Ale le le le le le le le le le.” I turned around and didn’t say anything, and tried to be brave and just take it like a man. So I kept on walking. Later on that day some kids where wearing robes on their head to try to act like me while saying “Ale le le le le le le le le le le.” That is what I think takes a lot of courage because I could have gone and hit them, but all that would have done is get me in trouble. Or I remember the time when people would be calling me Iraqi or terrorist. So you just have to be brave and let them know that you are not getting hurt and they will stop.

There are many ways to be brave, but as long as you believe that you are. Some brave things might not be as important as others, but bravery is bravery. Whether it is a doctor saving somebody else’s life or a soldier risking his/her life, or me fighting racism. As long as we have brave people in this world we have a chance of surviving another day. People are always going to face challenges in their lives, but as long as they are brave and they have courage, they will be fine. You need to be brave to fight the greatest fears in life or the greatest obstacles. The fear of people being racist to me is now gone. I don’t really care of what people think, as long as I believe in myself and am brave.

Travel to the Cavemen Age

The river flows as the sun brings another day to earth. It might be the greatest day of your life or the worst. Sometimes mother earth makes me think if this world can give so much, then why at the same time it can take it all back. I wish a can go back to the cavemen time. I bet their life was much easier than ours they could have done whatever they wanted to. Not pay for water, live anywhere they want, and a life without any war.

As humanity gains knowledge they are supposed to get smarter and make smart decisions. People are smarter, but I wonder when we are going to gain the knowledge that war is a bad thing. I want to ask the cavemen "How did they not have wars?" If knowledge is going to make this world a bad place to be, then I don't want knowledge.

I wonder what the cavemen did every single day. What the cavemen ate? How did they find that food? The most important question I have is how did they deal with the dinosaurs? I want to be able to see the dinosaur’s right in front of me. Feel how these wonderful creatures walked the earth. Smell the fresh air that is now polluted. So why did mother earth cause all the dinosaurs to die out, but not humanity? Is it because we are the chosen ones.

Imagine a day without politics, bills, and school. A place where the water is clean and you don’t have to pay for it. Sitting by the riverbank and fishing. Going anywhere you want without anybody telling you anything, traveling around the world without a passport. Well wouldn’t that be something great. Having enough knowledge to live a great live, but not too much to where you destroy everything there is. Yes there might not be technology, but at least there would have been hope to live a great life just in fear of dinosaurs, not of other humans.

That is why I would love to go back to the cavemen days and live a great life. Not have any fear of war or bloodshed. We are missing out on a lot of things. We might have found cures for cancer and many other things to expand the human life, but we have also destroyed and taken many lives. Some of the knowledge that we have gained has helped us a lot, but most of it has turned into a big nightmare. In those days nobody cared about a person’s color or race because that would be stupid. So if we have all these powers to make this world a better place, then why do we have to fight? Knowledge is a great thing, but right now it is not helping us very much. Mother earth will always do what it wants and when it wants, we just have to work together and not let what happened to the dinosaurs happen to us.
